IT Desktop/Network Support Engineer

Working as part of a dynamic and fast-growing company the IT Desktop/Network Support Engineer will undertake a wide-variety of tasks in support of the development and sales teams.

You will have a genuine passion for technology and always be eager to learn. We would expect some knowledge of Software and Hardware troubleshooting skills as you will be exposed to lots of different types of technology including VOIP, Office 365, Hyper-V, VMWare Workstation, Windows 10, Active Directory, Group Policy, MS Exchange, Skype, Servers, Oracle and SQL databases, and remote access tools.

Experience within these areas will stand you in good stead.

More specifically this role will be responsible for the following:

  • Setting up new user profiles and workstations.
  • Assigning appropriate access rights and undertaking regular reviews
  • Assisting internal colleagues with PC, voice and software issues
  • Identifying and responding to external threats and issues (e.g. viruses or other security concerns).
  • Ensuring Business Continuity Plans are regularly tested, updated and understood by the team.
  • Maintaining the IT Infrastructure and Inventory log and reviewing regularly
  • Monitoring systems and proactively identifying performance issues
  • Providing technical advice and recommendations
  • Managing daily/weekly system backup process and refining where possible
  • Testing company systems in advance of software/hardware updates
  • Maintaining and monitoring auto regression programs
  • Other adhoc IT related tasks as required

  • At least 1 year working experience

  • Experience working on an IT based Service Desk environment.
